WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CORE10 AND TRADITIONAL PILATES?

While some may describe CORE10 as “The CrossFit of Pilates”, CORE10 is not traditional Pilates. Our Full-Body classes are a fusion of many of the core-focused fundamentals of traditional Pilates, blended with interval training, strength training and cardio. This is core and strength training for men and women and kids 16 and up. Expect a shirt-drenching, muscle-quivering, full-body workout designed to give you fast results.

SHOULD I TAKE A PRIVATE SESSION BEFORE CLASSES?
If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t adjust to new equipment easily, then we suggest taking a private session (or a few) before classes. This will ensure everyone's experience is a good one.

Most of our students do just fine in our Full-Body classes after they have taken 1, 2, or 3 Essentials classes. Some need to take more Essential classes than others. The Full-Body workout is intense but the routine is kept simple and progression is offered to take each exercise to higher level of intensity. Classes are suited for people of all levels of fitness as you can push yourself as hard as you like, or take things at your own pace, on your Pilates reformer machine. If you have any medical conditions, please make sure you have your doctor's approval first. 


I HAVE INJURIES & NEED MODIFICATIONS
If you have chronic pain, a severe medical condition, are pregnant or recovering from an injury, please be sure that your doctor has given you the go-ahead before undertaking any new physical activity. You may consider taking ongoing private sessions using the Pilates reformer and not joining classes at all. If you are concerned, just let us know and we will be glad to talk with you about it.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY FIRST CLASS?
If you are a new client, you must arrive 5-10 minutes early to get set up on your reformer. Failure to arrive early may result in your not being permitted to take your scheduled class. This policy is to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO THE CORE10 WORKOUT?
CORE
10's strength training workout is designed to work your entire body to muscle fatigue, at which point you will need to rest and recover. Depending on your own personal fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more or less time to recover. We find that 3-4 times a week is ideal to allow your body proper recover time. However, some clients love the workout so much that they come in 5-6 times a week! The key is to listen to your body and find a routine that works best for you.

To schedule classes, download the free MindBody app and select CORE10 Pilates as one of your favorites for easy scheduling. You can also go to the Schedule page here on our website and use the link to book a class. While it is best to reserve your classes online to guarantee we have a reformer available, we welcome drop-ins and will release reserved spots to drop-in members 5 minutes after the start of class.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A CLASS OR 1:1 SESSION?
We have a 12-hour cancellation policy. For scheduling purposes, you
 must cancel the session at least 12 hours before the scheduled time or the session will be forfeited. Members with unlimited packages will incur a charge of $15 for a late cancellation and $20 for a no show.

No Exceptions.

RUNNING LATE—WILL I LOSE MY SPOT?
Yes, you may lose your spot if you are 5 minutes late and there are stand-by students waiting to take your spot. 

If you arrive late, and we have already given your spot away, you will not be charged for the class.

CAN I WAIT-LIST FOR A CLASS THAT IS FULL?
Absolutely, and we recommend doing this! Not only will you have better luck getting into a class. It also helps us know where we need to add classes. When you sign up for a class that is already full, you'll be added to the Waitlist. As soon as a spot opens (and they often do!), you'll get an email to tell you that you have been moved from the waitlist to the class.


NOTE: You are automatically confirmed into the class as soon as you are moved from the wait list to the class. You will receive an email to confirm the moment this happens. If someone late cancels, you may get the spot you're waiting for up to 30 minutes prior to class. If you want to remove yourself from the waitlist, you can do that (without the 12-hour cancellation)


You are responsible for taking yourself off any waitlists. Once you are confirmed in any class, you will be are subject to our cancellation policy.

 
WHAT SHOULD I BRING (AND NOT BRING) TO A CORE10 SESSION?

  • For safety reasons, we recommend that clients wear non-slip tread socks during sessions. These are available for purchase at the studios. Shoes are not permitted on the machines.
  • Bring a hand towel as you will most likely sweat!
  • We have water available for purchase, but you are welcome to bring your own water bottle. 
  • Wear comfortable clothes you can easily move in, much like you would for any fitness class.


WHAT SHOULD I BRING (AND NOT BRING) TO A CORE10 SESSION?

  • Jewelry is NOT a good idea. Necklaces, in particular can get caught and break.
  • No strong perfumes or body products in the studio. Please be courteous to classmates who may have allergies. 
  • We have cubbies (visible in the studio) for your personal belongings, however, it’s a good idea to leave valuables at home.
  • Out of courtesy to your instructor and classmates, cell phones need to be on silent/vibrate only. If you absolutely must be on-call during your exercise hour, you will be expected to take your phone call outside for any conversations.


​INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS

Thanks to our local media weather coverage, we all know when there is a big storm coming. If you reserve a spot, be sure that you can make it. If you're not sure, wait to check the schedule closer to class time and add yourself later (in to avoid late cancellation charges). Even during storms, we rely on our online reservation system to to manage our schedule in advance. 


Should a storm prevent instructors from getting to CORE10 studio, we will notify members with reservations of any class cancellation. The most likely scenario might be an early morning class where many are stuck in their neighborhoods before snow plowing begins. When in doubt, check the schedule for changes and your email for any class change notifications.
